Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED gave players a new date last night Night City Wire. No bad news this time regarding the launch of the game, still set for December 10. On the other hand, the teams wanted to demonstrate their game on our good old consoles.

Indeed, until now, the rare gameplay sequences broadcast by CD Projekt RED were from the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. Last night, players had the happy surprise of being able to enjoy a gameplay sequence of ‘ten minutes, on two consoles. Cyberpunk 2077 has indeed been shown in the Xbox One X version, but also in the Xbox Series X version.
The developers have also made a point of switching regularly between the two versions, allowing to discover an Xbox Series X version rather pleasant visually, compared to an Xbox One X version a little more painful, especially in terms of frame rate or even of clipping. The whole is (necessarily) a good cut below what had been shown so far, but the atmosphere is there, despite a few NPCs not very charismatic …
If CD Projekt RED has decided to show its game on the most powerful ex-console in the world and the most powerful next-gen console in the world, remember that Cyberpunk 2077 will also have to run on Xbox Series S, Xbox One S , Xbox One, PS5, PS4 Pro and PS4 (to speak only of consoles). It remains to be seen how the game will be optimized on consoles dating from 2013 …
It’s important to also point out that Cyberpunk 2077’s big next-gen update won’t be available until 2021. Those who play the game when it releases on PS5 or Xbox Series X will certainly enjoy an improved version, but not ” optimized“. Note that PS5 gameplay should be exhibited before the game is released.
