If you are never one of those who will drive a 100% electric Ferrari in 2025, then perhaps you will be tempted by this new Audi A6 e-tron concept, freshly made official by the German manufacturer. Indeed, within the framework of the Shanghai 2021 show, the Audi group unveils the one that will be the forerunner of an innovative family of fully electric series cars.
It’s an e-volution!
Already very present on the electro-mobility market, Audi does not weaken, and formalizes this Audi A6 e-tron concept. Remember that the current Audi A6 TFSI e (2019) has a plug-in hybrid mechanism and an electric range of up to 91 kilometers. This new concept is based exclusively on electric power, on the basis of the future PPE platform developed under the direction of Audi.
As often, special attention has been paid to the aerodynamics, with a Cx value of only 0.22. Combined with new optimizations on the battery and engine side, the aerodynamics of the car will allow this Audi A6 e-tron to enjoy a range of over 700 km.
A concept that sees itself fitted with 22 ″ rims, with smooth transitions between the different surfaces of the body, and a side “monolith”Asserted. Electric car requires, here we find an atypical front face, with the closed Singleframe grille, with air intakes at the bottom to cool the engine, but also the battery and the brakes.
The key element of the PPE platform is a battery module located between the axles, which contains around 100 kWh of energy in the A6 e-tron concept. Using the entire base of the vehicle results in a relatively flat battery layout. The two electric motors of the Audi A6 e-tron concept are capable of delivering a total power of 350 kW (476 hp) and a torque of 800 nm. Finally, like the Audi e-tron GT before it, the Audi A6 e-tron concept can be recharged up to 270 kW in a very short time at fast-charging stations.
Still a little patience, since the first Audi series vehicles built on the new PPE platform will be successively unveiled from the second half of 2022.
