Lately, Cyberpunk 2077 is talking about it a lot. Unlike the media tidal wave in December 2020, the game is talking about it in a positive way. Indeed, we learned a few days ago that the title was going again be available on PlayStation Store after five months of suspension (the game is now available since June 21). For its part, Microsoft plans to stop repayments without proof around Cyberpunk 2077 starting next week.
Today, CD Projekt Red (the developers of the game) are proud to announce that, according to them, the title has finally reached a “satisfactory” level of reliability.
Cyberpunk 2077 finally playable?
In December 2020, gamers around the world who have been waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles were taking a cold shower. Despite numerous messages to reassure players about the state of their game, CD Projekt Red failed to deliver a finished title. The Lies followed one of the biggest deals in video game history with unplayable gaming on early versions of the PS4 and Xbox One.
After six months of work, numerous patches uploaded and hundreds of gigabytes of fixes to download… CD Projekt Red believes that its game is finally stable. In any case, this is what Adam Kicinski (president of CD Projekt) declares during the Warsaw Stock Exchange Innovation Day, an event dedicated to shareholders and investors.
Cyberpunk 2077 now exhibits satisfactory stability. We also worked on the overall quality of the title, which we like today. Of course, we also fixed some bugs and visual issues and will continue to do so. As we go, we will make improvements, highlighted by the players, on the game as a whole.
Thus, at the end of June 2021 (ie more than six months after its release) the stability of Cyberpunk 2077 is therefore “satisfactory”. Far from being optimal, the CD Projekt teams should continue to offer fixes in the weeks and months to come.
Let’s not forget, however, that Sony strongly recommends that gamers play the game at least on PS4 Pro and if possible on PS5. And that Microsoft specifies that bugs may still be present on Xbox One.
The studio’s second objective is to deliver by the end of the year a next-gen version of the title on PS5 and Xbox Series X which will make people forget the chaotic release of the PS5 and Xbox One versions.
