Apple would launch an iPhone 13 Mini in the fall of 2021. Despite the catastrophic sales of the iPhone 12 Mini, the Cupertino company has decided to market a new compact smartphone this year. On the other hand, Apple would not offer a new iPhone SE. The Californian giant wants to prevent another compact smartphone from overshadowing the iPhone 13 Mini.
Last October, Apple surprised by lifting the veil on a fourth iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Mini. Built around a 5.4-inch screen, the iPhone SE stands out with its ultra-compact form factor. It is indeed easy to use with one hand. The icing on the cake is that it is offered at a low starting price of € 809.
Despite its strengths, the iPhone 12 Mini quickly established itself as a huge commercial failure. This downsized variant only accounts for 6% of total iPhone sales worldwide. While the iPhone 12 Pro are selling like hot cakes, the iPhone 12 Mini is struggling to find its audience. The market is in fact dominated by smartphones covered with large screens.

No iPhone SE 2021, Apple doesn’t want to overshadow the iPhone 13 Mini
Despite the reception given to the iPhone 12 Mini, Apple is currently developing its successor, the iPhone 13 Mini. According to information obtained by Jon Prosser, a famous informant despite his mixed history, the Cupertino company would not intend to review its plans for the end of 2021. Like last year, Apple will decline its new iPhone 13 in 4 variants, including a smaller edition.
On the other hand, Apple would have decided to skip a new iPhone SE. The manufacturer believes that the success of the iPhone SE 2020 would have helped to overshadow the iPhone 12 Mini. The two iPhones are indeed distinguished by their small size. The SE is doing well thanks to a very reduced selling price of 489 euros. It is the most affordable iPhone on the market. Under these conditions, many buyers looking for a compact smartphone have instead turned to the iPhone SE.
On the other hand, it could be that Apple markets an iPhone SE Plus. As the name suggests, this variant would benefit from a more spacious screen (6.1 inches). Last I heard, it would be presented in the second half of the year. We’ll tell you more as soon as possible.
