No "4K 60 fps" for Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Formalized with great fanfare a few days ago, the new installment of the Assassin's Creed saga, Valhalla, is expected by the end of this year 2020. The game, still signed Ubisoft, will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, but it will also be there on Xbox Series X and PS5. Ubisoft therefore replay the opus card " cross-gen", As was the case in 2013 with the Black Flag episode.
Very (too much?) Widely highlighted since its announcement, the Xbox Series X version of this same Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will obviously benefit from the joys of an “Enhanced” mode. However, if players dreamed (quite legitimately enough) of a 4K mode at 60 fps, it would seem that the game will ultimately not be able to climb beyond the now classic "3o fps".
Assassin's Creed Valhalla … a cross-gen game
An Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed the information to the Portuguese version of Eurogamer. " We can currently guarantee that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will run at least 30 fps on Xbox Series X. It will benefit from faster loading times, and improved graphics made possible by the console. We can't wait to show you the beautiful world we are creating in 4K resolution ” explains Ubisoft.
Like the origins and Odyssey on Xbox One X, it would seem that the next Assassin's Creed Valhalla is also playable in 30 fps on the (future) premium console from Microsoft, Ubisoft again favoring fluidity graphics. Obviously, as mentioned above, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a game " cross gen", Developed mainly for our current consoles, and optimized for PS5 and Xbox Series X. This was already the case with Black Flag in 2013, an already very beautiful game on PS3 and Xbox 360, and which simply benefited from a few more improvements or less notable on PS4 and Xbox One.
In other words, although expected by some as the first game " next gen", We will have to curb (a little) his enthusiasm, and finally accept that the next game signed Ubisoft will be a game" enhanced", Not a real next-gen game. To see now if Ubisoft will offer various modes, including one allowing to play in 60 fps, with slightly less fine graphics. Of course, we imagine that the game will also be offered in 4K 30 fps on PS5.
