F-150 / Cybertruck duel disputed by Ford
That will not have escaped you, Tesla has formalized a few days ago its imposing Cybertruck, a vehicle of a new kind, expected for 2021, and which, despite an atypical look, would have already exceeded the 200 000 orders according to Elon Musk. A bigger car than an F150 and faster than a Porsche 911 promises the American giant.
Story to illustrate his words, Tesla did not hesitate to stage a duel back to back the Ford F-150 (very popular in the United States) and his new Cybertruck. A duel based on the power, which turns quickly to the advantage of the Tesla car, yet "uphill" says the manufacturer.
Obviously, if the duel highlights the Cybertruck, it also tends to point out the lack of power of the Ford pickup. According to the latter, the duel staged by Tesla is simply unfair, and it was the vice-president of Ford X, Sunny Madra, who wanted to make some clarification via Twitter.
Stronger than an F-150, faster than a Porsche 911?
According to the latter, the duel was not balanced, since Tesla would have used the most powerful version of its Cybertruck, and a Ford F-150 equipped with the 2.7L engine of 325 hp, and in two-wheel drive mode (against an integral transmission for the Cybertruck). Added to this is the fact that the Cybertruck accelerates first in the video, which gives an undeniable advantage …

In his tweet, the VP of Ford X invites Elon Musk to entrust him a Cybertruck, to allow him to make a test " comparing apples to apples". Recall that while the Tesla Cybetruck is able (apparently) to dominate an F-150 in tug of war, it is also faster than a Porsche 911 in terms of pure acceleration. In its most powerful version, the one with three electric motors, the Tesla Cybertruck can indeed cut down the 0 to 96 km / h in just 2.9 seconds.
