At the start of the year, in France, the Tesla Model 3 fell below the 40,000 euros mark. Surprising for a manufacturer who tends to charge particularly high prices. However, Tesla seems to be gradually changing its pricing strategy. If the latest Model S Plaid can go up to € 144,290, it seems that the company founded by Elon Musk is planning to offer a much cheaper model.
According to the British media Autocar, Tesla is seriously working on a car that is even more accessible than the Model 3 since it could “only” cost 25,000 euros. Over the years, Tesla shows more and more encouraging results. In the first quarter of 2021, the company broke all records. In France, the American manufacturer with the Model 3 retains the first place in the ranking of sales of electric vehicles since January 1, 2021.

By offering this vehicle more accessible, and therefore surely smaller, less efficient, and devoid of many features, Tesla should find itself facing very solid competitors such as the Volkswagen ID.3, the Nissan LEAF or the Kia Niro EV. In order to achieve lower prices, Tesla would have to rely on a new technology that it has been developing for some time, in order to produce batteries in-house. These batteries which should be 35% smaller. Anyway, these cars should offer a range of over 400 km.
Also according to information from Autocar, Tesla could baptize this automobile: Model 2. Production should take place in the new Berlin Gigafactory, which will eventually produce 500,000 vehicles per year according to Elon Musk. This Gigafactory still has to see the light of day… Environmental activists are outraged by the deforestation planned as part of this project, which would lead to the displacement of certain animals. These setbacks would have even led Tesla to dismiss the engineer in charge of the construction of this Gigafactory in Berlin.
