TENET: the trailer first in Fortnite
Tonight (at 2 a.m.), Fortnite players had the good surprise to discover a new trailer for director Christopher Nolan's next film, TENET, with John David Washington and Robert Pattinson. A trailer that will be broadcast every hour, until May 23 at 2 a.m., via the Royal Festival.
Finally, as revealed by the now ubiquitous Geoff Keighley, in the coming months, Epic Games will broadcast a famous film by Christopher Nolan in full on the big screen of the Royal Fortnite Festival. Enough to bring together again, a few million player-spectators.
At present, this TENET is still scheduled for July 17, despite the many uncertainties hanging over the sector, obviously due to the coronavirus. To create the event, Warner Bros. decided to broadcast its trailer on a new kind of media: Fortnite.
Fortnite, a new media in its own right?
Warner Bros is not the first American studio to choose Epic Games to create a "Event" around an upcoming movie. Indeed, at the end of last year, Disney also decided to use Fortnite, to broadcast some exclusive extracts from Star Wars IX. More recently, Travis Scott gave a virtual concert on Fortnite, bringing together no less than 12 million spectators on the first day.
It must be said that with 350 million registered players, Fortnite has enough to attract a good number of advertisers. For the month of April 2020 alone, the Fortnite servers recorded a total of 3.2 billion hours of play… A few days ago, Fortnite organized a big Royal Party, which brought together DJs from world famous, such as Dillon Francis, deadmau5 or Steve Aoki.
A Fortnite which, day by day, seems more and more to transform into a real parallel virtual world…
