Launched late last year, Need for Speed Heat (not to be confused with "Hit" …) continues to be updated by Electronic Arts. The new game update developed by Criterion is available today, and allows you to bring a whole new feature: crossplay.

Need for Speed Heat opens up to crossplay

Thus, like some games (like Fortnite to name a few) that allow players to compete, regardless of the platform used, Need for Speed Heat will allow PC, PS4 and Xbox One players to evolve together. Once the latest update is installed, the player will have the option to activate (or not) the valuable crossplay function.

A great first for EA!

On the official blog of the game, we can read: “At Criterion, we have always thought that games are better with friends. We do not want the platform of your choice to be an obstacle to this experience. We are therefore delighted to inform you that from June 9, Need for Speed Heat will be the first EA title to offer cross-play, which means that players, regardless of their platform, can play within Palm City together , as a united community. "

Electronic Arts also specifies that this same Need for Speed Heat will be available via EA Access and Origin from June 16. A few days later (the 18th), EA will hold its EA Play Live, an event during which we should once again hear about the NFS license, the American giant having teased announcements concerning " Need for Speed and Steam".

Remember that EA now offers many games on the Steam platform, including some of the Need for Speed saga, but also Dragon Age, Crysis, Unravel…
