CyberPunk 2077 is one of the big releases of 2020 and the game was (basically) due out this week. Remember, it was even Keanue Reeves who announced it to us at E3 2019 in Los Angeles last June. Alas, the teams of CD Projekt RED have lagged behind the development of the title which is now expected for September 17, 2020. If for the famous health crisis does not seem to be a problem for teams on the verge of development, containment measures seem to be a problem for dubbing. Thus, during the last financial assessment, CD Projekt Red already announced that a big Day One update would be available to include the different foreign voices in the game.
CyberPunk 2077 in French as soon as it is released!
So it was during the last quarterly review that CD Projekt Red announced that a big Day One patch would be available for CyberPunk 2077 in order to offer voice dubbing in the game. The reason? Problems related to containment.
We have some localization concerns, especially the dubbing, said the director of business development. Most recording studios are closed, at least at present. That said, although a few sessions are still missing, we have managed to box most of the votes. We are therefore not worried, especially since it is perfectly conceivable to make the missing recordings and add them via a patch. So when people buy the game in September, they'll just have to download this update to get the full dubbing.
So this is an understandable decision and we forgive CD Projekt Red for this little concern beyond their control. As for the development of the game, the latter does not seem disturbed by these containment measures. The studio initially reassured its fans at the beginning of March. Then, in a second tweet at the end of March, the studio again indicated on the work is not disturbed.
15 days ago we moved from CD PROJEKT RED offices to the safety of our own homes. Our work goes smoothly forward, all thanks to the back office heroes who managed to pull off moving hundreds of REDs over a single weekend. Friends, from the bottom of our hearts – thank you! pic.twitter.com/8WNyEjhfOK

The development of CyberPunk 2077 therefore goes smoothly and the game is still scheduled for September 17, 2020 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A later release on PS5 and Xbox Series X is already on the program.
