After many rumors that seemed to come to fruition, Discord officially announced last month that talks with Microsoft were finished and that no agreement would be found between the two firms despite the 10 billion offered by the Redmond firm. The goal of this partnership will be to connect Discord to the social and gaming world on PlayStation Network. Sony wants to bring the Discord and PlayStation experiences on console and mobile closer together starting in early 2022. These new features will make it easier for friends, groups and communities to have fun and communicate while playing games. games together on PlayStation.

Jim Ryan specifies that Sony Interactive Entertainment is making a minority investment as part of Discord’s H Series to seal the deal. Discord is currently the most popular VoIP and instant messaging platform around. Its monthly user base has even doubled to reach 140 million active users today.
