In Europe, Ford is using the platform developed by Volkswagen to develop its new models of electric vehicles.
This alliance with the German group has existed since 2019 and consists of an exchange of technology, Ford bringing its autonomous driving technology and Volkswagen, its electrification platform.
An electric SUV inspired by the Ford Mustang Mach-E line
Ford of Europe President Stuart Rowley announced earlier this year the arrival of two passenger vehicles based on Volkswagen's MEB platform.
The first model will be an SUV whose line is directly inspired by the Ford Mustang Mach-E, for a more contained price, in particular thanks to the use of the MEB platform. No information has yet been communicated regarding the second model to come.
We know for the moment that Ford plans an entry-level equipped with a battery of 45 kWh and an electric motor of 150 hp, as well as a high-end version gaining a battery of 77 kWh for an engine passing to 204 horses.
In the United States, Ford is also preparing the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the F-150 Electric, an evolution of its famous pickup, more suited to large American spaces than to our European roads.
