The automotive industry has set the handbrake on the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) across Europe. Ford, Renault, BMW, Daimler, PSA and Volkswagen have thus suspended their production activities.

No one is spared. The coronavirus pandemic which currently affects the whole world, and especially Europe, which has become the epicenter of this health crisis since March 14, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), has a direct impact on the automobile industry of the Old Continent. The watchword is simple: the outright shutdown of production plants.

Auto industry takes responsibility

One by one, the major manufacturers in the sector have published a press release to announce the cessation of their activities within their European sites.
