Ionity: 10 minutes of charge for 119 km of autonomy with the Ford Mach-E
A few months ago now, Ford formalized its all-new Mach-E, a 100% electric SUV derived from the Mustang, which aims to spearhead a rapidly expanding line of Ford electrified vehicles. A model that is one of the 18 new electrified vehicles that the company will introduce in Europe before the end of 2021. The Mustang Mach-E aims for a range of up to 600 km, with (very) fast charging.
The American manufacturer is formal, the latest tests carried out by Ford show that the all-new 100% electric Mustang Mach-E will be able to cover an average of 119 km in around 10 minutes of charging on an Ionity terminal. As a reminder, Ford also plans to set up 1,000 charging stations in the European Ford network over the next three years in order to make charging simple and accessible to everyone.
OTA updates for the Ford Mach-E
At the same time, like what Tesla offers, the Ford Mustang Mach-E will be able to evolve over time, thanks to an OTA update system. Ford says that " almost all Mustang Mach-E computer modules can be updated wirelessly. This means that Ford can add entirely new performance improvements and features that may not have existed when the vehicle was first delivered to users. "
Most updates can be activated in less than two minutes, and more complex updates, that is, those that may require a longer stop, can be scheduled to take place when customers find it most convenient. .
Ford plans to deliver its first updates within six months of the first Mustang Mach-E vehicles arriving at their proud owners. They will receive notifications detailing updates to the connected system when they become available, which can then be installed using Wi-Fi or 4G, depending on the update.
