Get ready to experience a big Apple Keynote on Tuesday October 13th. Because it will obviously be a question of iPhone 12, but not only! A month after presenting new Apple Watch and new iPad, the Cupertino company is back. And it will always be in virtual mode since the coronavirus epidemic does not allow journalists usually invited to the United States to experience this event live.
Everything will start at 7 p.m. French time. Tim Cook should therefore announce several new features. The most anticipated is obviously the iPhone 12. There should be four of them, all 5G compatible and all with an OLED screen. The screen sizes will however not be the same as they are currently (5.8 and 6.46 inches for the iPhone 11 Pro, 6.06 inches for the iPhone 11). There will still be three screen sizes but as follows: 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7 inches. The smallest will be for the iPhone 12 mini, which will also be the most affordable (starting at $ 649 or $ 699). The iPhone 12 will have a 6.1 ” panel, like the iPhone 12 Pro. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will have the largest Apple screen ever dedicated to a smartphone, 6.7 ” therefore.
Lots of circles on this Apple invitation …
The two iPhone 12 Pro will be entitled to three photo sensors and a LiDAR sensor for augmented reality, while the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be satisfied with two photo sensors. The design will be slightly different since Apple should devote the return of flat slices, as on the iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S. As on the latest iPad Pro too. On the color side, a navy blue could replace the current midnight green for the Pro models. These four iPhone 12s, which will run under iOS 14 and will be boosted by the new A14 chip, will most certainly not all be released at the same time. The latest trend is for the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro to be available on Friday October 23, while the mini and 12 Po versions would only arrive on Friday November 13. Their price should be roughly the same as those of the iPhone 11, between 800 and 1660 euros depending on the storage capacities (from 64 to 512 GB).
With these iPhone 12s, we obviously have the big fish of the October 13 keynote. But other products could be announced. The most likely is a new HomePod, this speaker released in 2017. It would be a mini version at around 150 euros against 329 euros today for the large one. Still on the music side, will the long-awaited headphones finally be there? Not so sure. Apple could indeed reserve a keynote for him during the month of November. In any case, this announces the beginning of the end of Beats, a brand acquired by Apple in 2014. Finally, the Arlésienne AirTags is still announced. This very small and round connected object would make it possible to find lost objects thanks to an iPhone chip and to the tracking systems of other iPhones around the lost object. But nothing says he will be there.
