No iPhone SE 3 in 2021? According to a financial analyst, Apple would finally wait until early 2022 to launch a third generation iPhone SE on the market. The smartphone would take the same well-worn design as its predecessor. On the other hand, it could be that the Cupertino company unveils an iPhone SE Plus at the end of this year.

In a note to investors, William Yang, supply chain analyst at JP Morgan, a famous US investment bank, discusses Apple’s plans for the iPhone line. First of all, the analyst prophesies colossal success for the future iPhone 13s with 90 million sales by the end of the year.

Secondly, William Yang evokes the release of the iPhone SE 3. According to him, Apple will not launch a third compact iPhone until the first half of 2022. However, he believes the supply chain is already working on components for the brand’s future affordable smartphone.

An iPhone SE 3 with the design of the iPhone 6 in 2022

Unsurprisingly, Apple would recycle once again the design of the iPhone 6. We would therefore find a TouchID fingerprint reader housed in the Home button, a 4.7-inch screen surrounded by wide borders and a single photo sensor on the back. On the other hand, the Cupertino company would renew the chipset. Instead of the A13 Bionic integrated into the iPhone SE 2020, Apple would add an A14 Bionic SoC, the powerful chip that powers the iPhone 12.

In his report, the analyst is content to mention the iPhone SE 3. But according to a previous leak, Apple may well launch an iPhone SE Plus later this year. Very similar to other SE models, it would stand out only thanks to a 6.1-inch IPS display. With this large format model, Apple would seek to attract another panel of buyers, more used to large format smartphones.

Under these conditions, we imagine that Apple could have decided to postpone the launch of the iPhone SE 3 to leave the field open to its future SE Plus. We’ll tell you more about it as soon as possible on the iPhone SE. While waiting for more information, feel free to give your opinion in the comments below.
