If the CES will begin on January 11, LG is taking the lead by unveiling a video teaser in which we can quickly see the screens and technologies that it intends to present on this occasion. It is recalled that this 2021 edition will be held only virtually rather than taking place in Las Vegas as every year, health situation requires.

An LG screen for gaming, but not only

In the list of new features, we particularly notice a new LG screen dedicated to gaming. This has a new technical specificity, and not the least. Indeed, the device is able to curve at the request of the user, passing from a simple flat screen to a flexible screen. Clearly aimed at video game enthusiasts, it can reach a radius of 1000 mm when it is curved.

This LG signed screen will allow gamers to benefit from an even more immersive gaming experience without forgetting to satisfy movie fans, who will prefer to watch their favorite movies with the flat screen mode.

That’s not all, LG was also interested in sound. The brand has also made the decision not to equip its screen with speakers as is usually the case. This model relies on the vibrations of the device itself in order to produce sound rather than passing through speakers. To achieve this objective, the brand used a technology soberly called ” Bendable CSO (Cinematic Sound OLED) “. It had already been presented by LG Display a few years ago, but it had not yet been used in this context.

As for the technical aspect, this LG model is a 48-inch 4K OLED screen. It has a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, but this variable refresh rate can range from 40 to 120 Hz. All for a response time of 0.1 milliseconds.

In addition to this flexible screen, LG will take advantage of CES to unveil a 55-inch transparent OLED screen. This one is especially dedicated to professional use, in the context of catering, tourism or mobility for example.
