MG prepares for its return to the French market by subjecting its new SUV MG ZS EV the EuroNCAP crash test.

The results are very positive for the SUV, since it receives 5 stars guaranteeing its occupants a high level of protection and security.

The Euro-NCAP test, supported by the European Union, delivers a score based on many parameters by subjecting the vehicles tested to several crash tests and analyzes. It evolves over time according to technological advances in the automotive industry.

But getting one or more stars on this test goes far beyond legal requirements. However, a vehicle meeting the minimum safety criteria set by Europe will not be awarded stars.

The MG ZS EV therefore goes beyond the minimum required by positioning itself at the top of the ranking in front of rivals known for their quality of manufacture or for their high level of safety such as the German Mercedes EQC and Audi e-tron, but also the American Tesla Model 3.

Frank Meijer, Director of Sales and Marketing for SAIC Motor Europe, the Chinese group that owns the MG brand, said in a press release: " We are very proud to have received this five-star rating from Euro NCAP. Being the first category B electric SUV to receive this rating confirms this high standard for the electric vehicle industry. ”

A result made possible by a range of active and passive safety equipment integrated into the MG ZS EV, including the MG Pilot L2 + system including, inter alia, lane change assistance and adaptive cruise control, or even the AEB- Cyclist (autonomous emergency braking detecting and protecting cyclists) and level 2 automatic driving assistance technology equipped with a multifunction camera and a millimeter wave radar.

SAIC Motor Europe President Aiden He said following the Euro NCAP test results: " We are confident that the MG ZS EV offers our customers intelligent safety solutions to reduce potential risks at the wheel and increase driving pleasure. In cooperation with the latest level 2 autonomous driving assistance technology from Bosch, we have integrated the MG Pilot L2 + Intelligent Drive, the most advanced system, into the new MG ZS EV. This system will also be integrated into all future MG models "
