The time has come to put the three essential smartphones of this year 2019 against each other. The Google Pixel 4, Apple iPhone 11 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S10, which will win?
Who has the best battery?
Let’s get straight to the heart of the matter by asking which of these three smartphones excels in terms of longevity. The answer is almost no doubt: the star of high-end phone batteries is obviously the Samsung Galaxy S10. This year, the Korean firm hit hard with a 3,400 mAh battery, a figure that climbs to 4,100 mAh on the S10 +.
But for once, the iPhone 11 Pro isn’t far behind. The apple brand has decided to show that it no longer wants to abandon its users stranded for battery. 3,174 mAh for the Pro, 3,969 mAh for the Pro Max, very precise figures that are nice to see.
Well last, we find the Pixel 4, which presents very correct figures but below the competition with a battery of 2,800 mAh or 3,700 mAh for its XL model. But we can not say that it is really lagging behind, the three smartphones all have a good battery.
Who has the best screen?
On the screen side, we give the palm to the iPhone 11 Pro without hesitation. With a small model at 5.8 inches and a large version at 6.5 inches, Apple manages to make a difference. There is a screen for those who like small smartphones, one for those who prefer to have a TV in their hand, all with their usual wonderful technology of Retina.
The Google Pixel 4 is neither good nor bad. Very intermediate, it does not disappoint without impressing us so far. From 5.7 to 6.3 inches like the iPhone, it offers a real alternative to its users in dimensions that are however a little less ambitious.
Finally, the big loser in this category is the Galaxy S10. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the screen. The big disappointment is that Samsung offers very little choice: large or very large. 6.1 inches for the S10 against 6.4 inches for the S10 +. The contrast is minor, as if the Korean giant wanted to force its users to own a (very) large format smartphone.
Who offers the best performance?
From a performance point of view, it’s Samsung who catches up with its screen and wins hands down! With a RAM that starts at 6GB and can climb up to 12GB, you can be sure that your phone will never experience a slowdown and will support the most voracious games and apps.
For their part, the Pixel 4 and the iPhone 11 Pro offer a RAM in the standards of the market, which does not turn heads. 6GB for the Google smartphone, 4GB for the Apple smartphone, nothing really innovative.
Who offers the best storage capacity?
Once again, storage level, it is the Galaxy S10 that shines. So much so that we are on the verge of mistaking it for an external hard drive. 128GB at the entry level, the S10 + can go up to 1TB of storage. Yes, you read that right, no, we are not delusional.
For its part, the iPhone 11 Pro is no exception. 64GB base which can be upgraded to 512GB, which is more than (and even more than) sufficient. The Pixel 4 is below. With a memory ranging from 64 to 128GB, which is still very correct, it will not allow you to splurge.
Who has the best price?
With a price ranging from 800 to 900 euros, approximately, the Google Pixel 4 is clearly the smartphone best suited to slightly tighter budgets. Then the prices go up crescendo. Around 900 to 1,000 euros for the Samsung Galaxy S10 and 1,000 to 1,100 euros for the iPhone 11 Pro. No need to go into detail, the figures speak for themselves!
Before moving on to the final verdict, let’s take a look at the “bonus points”, these little specifics of each of the three smartphones that make them special to us. First, the Pixel 4: Google has always proven to its users that when it comes to photos, they have good arguments. On this model, once again, we are not disappointed. With sensors that climb up to 16 mega pixels, one wide-angle and one ultra-wide-angle, it is a prime asset for photography enthusiasts. Note also that the Pixel 4 offers this superb dictaphone option that transcribes everything you say, a more than useful innovation.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is a bit more left out on the bonus side. Note all the same that it is the only one to offer the possibility of adding an external SD card. Ironically, as we explained above, it is the smartphone with the most storage capacity. It is also the only model to offer fingerprint unlocking in addition to facial recognition.
Finally, the iPhone 11 Pro has a strong argument: the best internal camera. Apple has understood that we used our smartphone more to take selfies than to phone. It is therefore quite logical that the American manufacturer has put the package on the internal lens so that our small self-portraits are the most beautiful.
Drum roll … And the winner is … You really thought we were going to choose for you? What really prevents us from separating these three models is that they each meet different needs. The Google Pixel 4 is the cheapest smartphone geared towards photos. The iPhone 11 Pro is in tune with new uses. And the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be of particular interest to lovers of complex and efficient machinery. Now the ball is in your court, it’s your turn!
