The Last Of Us Part. II will soon be celebrating its first anniversary (June 19). It is the most awarded game in history with over 300 “game of the year” awards. Available on PS4, compatible on PS4 Pro, the game allows to play in 1080p (1440p on PS4 Pro) and in 30FPS allowing to live an incredible adventure in the streets of Seattle. Today, Naughty Dog adds a little extra for the backward compatible versions on PS5!
The Last Of Us Part.II in 60 FPS!
This is not a next-gen version, but an update for backward compatible versions of The Last Of Us Part.II. The PS5 therefore allows to shorten the loading times, to display a resolution in 1440p, and to have very small improvements on the controllers with the haptic vibrations. Now, thanks to the new update it is possible to play in 60FPS!

The update is of course free and available now. Naughty Dog announced on PlayStation Blog that this update is one of the community’s “most requested items”. The Californian studio specifies that this performance patch is “only the first step in working on the PS5”. Other surprises should arrive soon!
We can then think that Naughty Dog is developing a real next-gen version with the features of DualSense as well as 4K. We also suspect that the studio is working on a multiplayer game in the universe of The Last Of Us according to the latest information from journalist Jason Schreier.
Regarding the future of the series, Neil Druckmann, co-chairman of Naughty Dog confirmed last month that The Last Of Us Part.III was currently in pre-production phase. Good news for fans who can wait with it a remake of the first opus on PS5 but also with the series which is in production on the side of HBO.
Enough to celebrate the 10 years of the series in June 2023!
