Is the year 2021 going to be the year of the Pokémon? In any case, it will be the year of the 25 years of the license. Pikachu and his friends could in any case prepare some nice surprises for us since the brand’s official Twitter account has already started teasing for next year. Obviously, it would be several projects in preparation to arrive next year.

Usually Nintendo hosts a Pokémon Direct in January or February every year to announce plans for the year. In 2020, we were entitled to several mobile apps, both DLC for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, as well as the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon remake.

In 2016, for the 20 years of the license, we were entitled to the famous Pokémon Go.
Will 2021 be such a beautiful and historic year for fans of pocket monsters?

Something very special in 2021

It is on the occasion of Thanksgiving that the official Pokémon Twitter account did his little teasing. A small logo, and a message that was enough to excite fans around the world.

Hours later, many Pikachu danced to the iconic Pokémon music during New York’s iconic Thanksgiving Parade: The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. During this same parade, a giant balloon bearing the image of Pikachu flew between the New York buildings with the famous 25 years logo.

The Pokémon Company then released a press release to meet fans very soon (at the Game Awards on December 10, 2020?) For a taste of the brand’s 25 years.

The Pokémon Company International gave a taste of the celebration of 25 years of Pokémon at the annual “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade”. A whole group of Pikachu danced to the iconic Pokémon music in the middle of Herald Square in New York. To conclude this electrifying performance, Pokémon Trainers unfurled a huge banner revealing the official logo of this upcoming celebration. To the delight of fans, and for the 20th time in a row, the giant Pikachu balloon floated among the skyscrapers of Manhattan.
