We still remember, during the X019 event, Microsoft announced the arrival on its Xbox Game Pass of many games stamped Final Fantasy. At the start of 2021, if some titles are indeed in the game, many are still missing, and some players were beginning to despair … Don’t panic, however, the Xbox Game Pass will indeed be full of RPG signed Square-Enix this year!

Full of Final Fantasy on Xbox this year!

A little more than a year ago now, Microsoft made official the arrival of 10 games in the Final Fantasy saga via the Xbox Game Pass in 2020. At the start of 2021, only 4 Final Fantasy games are available via the Microsoft’s subscription service.

A Microsoft spokesperson reassured players, telling True Achievements : “As we announced during X019, we are happy to bring the Final Fantasy franchise to gamers with Xbox Game Pass. We have been doing this throughout 2020 and will continue to do so in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to announcing specific launch dates for other Final Fantasy titles in the future.

In other words, games like Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered, Final Fantasy XIII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII-2 or Lightning Returns should be coming to Xbox Game Pass this year. However, Microsoft’s statement also suggests that some titles could arrive … in 2022.

It remains to be seen whether, with the mention “in 2021 and beyond“, Microsoft did not actually evoke the next Final Fantasy XVI, presented during a PS5 conference, and which remains for the time being a (temporary) Sony exclusive. In the meantime, it is already possible to (re) play Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX, not to mention Final Fantasy XV, via Xbox Game Pass, on Xbox One as on the new Xbox Series range.
