After Microsoft’s pre-E3 conference last night, it was publisher Square-Enix who wanted to show their ambitions for the weeks and months to come. A relatively disappointing conference, however, with many absent on the one hand, but also unpublished titles which did not convince many people… Among the flood of announcements, the return of the first six Final Fantasy, in Pixel Remaster version. But what is it exactly?

Final Fantasy back in “Pixel Remaster” mode

A few weeks ago, Square-Enix formalized the remaster, Octopath Traveler style, of Dragon Quest III. Yesterday evening, the Japanese studio in particular shed light on its other flagship series, namely Final Fantasy. The occasion in particular to announce that the first six opus of the saga will be published an umpteenth time, with a collection called soberly “Pixel Remaster“.

Square-Enix thus confirms that the first six episodes of the saga can be purchased individually by the player, with availability that currently only concerns Steam and mobiles. It is therefore not a compilation. On the look side, Square-Enix promises to want to keep the original graphics, while dusting off the “pixels”Of these opus, the first episode having been launched in 1987.

The games will be offered gradually by the publisher, obviously starting with the very first opus. It remains to be seen now what will be the real added value of these episodes “Pixel Remaster“, Knowing that the first opus of the Final Fantasy series have already been entitled to many“ remakes ”.
