The Chinese manufacturer Polestar plans to deliver the first copies of the Polestar 2 to Europe in the summer of 2020, then to China and North America soon after.
Despite the global health crisis linked to the Coronavirus, Polestar began production of its new model in China, taking care to focus on the health and safety of its employees.
A direct competitor for the Tesla Model 3
Installed in a factory of the Chinese group Geely Auto in Luqiao, China, Polestar announced that it has started mass production of its new fully electric model, the first vehicle of its kind for Volvo.
Due to its characteristics, the Polestar 2 is positioned as a direct competitor of the Tesla Model 3 but also of the future BMW i4. It is equipped with a motor on each axle providing a cumulative power of 408 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. Which makes it an all-wheel drive. 0 to 100 km / h is announced in just 4.7 seconds.
The autonomy for this all-electric model is, according to the WLTP cycle, 470 km thanks to a 78kWh battery and it will benefit from rapid recharging at 150 kW.
The Polestar 2 will be marketed in 10 countries around the world when it is launched, but not in France at the moment.
