After many “idle” years, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro both made their comeback to PS4, Xbox One and PC starting in 2016 with a remake of their early adventures. With Spyro Reignited Trilogy, players were able to rediscover the three PS One games developed by Insomniac Games. While Crash Bandicoot fans were treated to two remakes with the N-Sane Trilogy and CTR Nitro Fueled. The marsupial even paid for the luxury of an unreleased opus last year.
In 2022, they will both be back, but on streaming platforms! Two series would be in preparation for AppleTV + in partnership with Activision Blizzard.
The Adventures of Crash Bandicoot
According to Buzzfeed, Apple and Activision have reached an agreement for the production of two new series around the characters of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. Two seasons of each of the series have already been ordered for release next year.
The first series would be “The Adventures of Crash Bandicoot”. The project is expected to be an animated series for children produced by Activision Blizzard Studios, Sony Pictures Studios and French studio TeamTO. At this time, we have no further information regarding the scenario and other details.
In 1995, to promote the release of the first game on PlayStation, Crash Bandicoot had the right to a cartoon pilot which ultimately did not see the light of day. 27 years later, the marsupial is ready to take his revenge!
Spyro The Dragon: The Treasure Hunt Guide
Regarding Spyro, the animated series is also scheduled for 2022 and should be called “Spyro the Dragon: the guide to the treasure hunt”. Again, this is a children’s anime that will be produced by Apple Studios, Activision Blizzard Studios, JibJab Bros. and Canadian animation studio The Volta.
As with the Crash Bandicoot series, we don’t have any information around the synopsis and other details. One thing is certain, we should have information very soon.
