Three months ago, Microsoft announced various measures regarding its Xbox Live service, aimed at reducing network infrastructure, the web network having been severely tested during the containment measures. Among the measures taken by the American giant, the withdrawal of the function "Gamerpic custom", allowing you to download a personalized image.
The gamerpic download back!
Last March, Microsoft (like many other web players) made the decision to limit some of its services, including those that have appealed to Xbox Live. In addition to reduced speeds, Microsoft also decided to suspend the download of gamerpic (on Xbox, Windows 10 and the Xbox Live app) in order to reduce not the network overload, but rather the workload of the service moderators. Indeed, each image uploaded is subject to prior approval from a Microsoft moderator.
As a reminder, last March, during the confinement, Xbox Live recorded an increase in activity of around 42% compared to the previous year. From now on, it is therefore possible to download a personalized gamerpic again on Xbox Live without receiving an error message in return. In addition to Xbox Live, the Xbox Game Pass service has also been very successful, as it now has more than 10 million subscribers.
Launched in 2017, the Xbox Game Pass service gives subscribers unlimited access to a catalog of around one hundred games. Xbox One games, but also Xbox 360, with even some titles from the first Xbox, all freely playable (during the subscription period) on an Xbox One console, and soon on the new Xbox Series X.
After the PS5 a few days ago, it is the Xbox Series X which should be shown in more detail in a few weeks. Still a little patience…
