Is Cyberpunk 2077 coming to an end soon? After six months of ordeal, especially at the end of 2020, it seems that the future is starting to brighten up for CD Projekt Red (the developers of the game). Last week, Sony announced the game’s return to PlayStation Store (for PS4 and PS5) still warning players about the quality of the title on the first generations of PS4.
Today, we learn that Microsoft will stop automatic refunds around the game. As of next month, it will no longer be possible to get a refund for your Cyberpunk 2077 without good reasons.
Cyberpunk 2077: Towards a better future?
After the storm around Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red at the end of 2020, Sony made the rather radical decision to remove the game from PlayStation Store and no longer offer it for sale on PS4 and PS5. The Japanese firm also set up a reimbursement system where players did not need to justify their motivation to be reimbursed.
In official partnership, the situation was a little more complicated for Microsoft which only set up a refund system similar to that of PlayStation allowing players to be reimbursed for their game without any difficulty. Following the return of the game to PlayStation Store and after the implementation of many patches, Microsoft announces that the special treatment around Cyberpunk 2077 will end on July 6.
From that date, the game will be treated like any other title in the Xbox catalog and cannot be refunded without a valid reason.
The CD PROJEKT RED team continues to do everything possible to improve the Cyberpunk 2077 experience for Xbox gamers and has made a number of updates. With these updates, Microsoft will revert to its standard Cyberpunk 2077 digital game refund strategy on July 6 for new and existing purchases.
Last week, PlayStation still warned players that it was recommended “to play the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for a better experience.” On the side of Microsoft, the warning is also on the agenda.
Players may experience performance issues on Xbox One until the game is updated.
It is now high time to turn the page and close this affair which will undoubtedly never end with a game which will remain indefinitely unplayable on PS4 and Xbox One fat. We hope that the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 which are expected at the end of the year 2021 will be up to the task to definitely make people forget this bad period.
